Policies & data sources

EG Maps («خرائط مصر», egmaps.com) is a free informational directory of places in Egypt. This page explains where our data comes from, how we display it, and how rights holders can request changes or removal. It complements our Terms and Privacy policy.

1. Data sources and licences

• Overture Maps Foundation — names, coordinates, categories, phones, websites. Overture combines sources under different licences (mainly CDLA-Permissive-2.0; OSM-derived data under ODbL); we record each record's upstream source and release. Overture attribution.
• OpenStreetMap — base map, places and ATMs. © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL.
• Wikidata — brand facts, CC0.
• District boundaries (aqsam and marakiz) — the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), 2017, published by OCHA ROMENA on HDX (CC BY 3.0 IGO); used to name the district you are in on the home page.
• Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (egymonuments.gov.eg) — official visiting hours and ticket prices of museums and archaeological sites.
• Wikimedia Commons — landmark photos and governorate emblems; each file keeps its own licence, author and source page, and we note any modification (cropping/resizing). Modified CC BY-SA files stay CC BY-SA.
• Mapillary — street-level photos, CC BY-SA 4.0, shown only on place pages and labelled as street photos.
• Businesses' official websites and pages — logos, item photos and prices publicly published by the business itself, shown for identification. Rights remain with their owners. We respect robots.txt and never bypass access controls.
• Public menu sites — some prices and item names come from public menu sites (e.g. menuegypt.com, egmenus.com) as facts only, without their photos; the source and date are shown next to the menu.
• Owners and visitors — submissions reviewed before publishing.

Each place or chain page lists its specific sources and licences at the bottom under “Data sources & licences”.

2. Prices and menus

• Each menu shows its price source and last-updated date.
• Prices are indicative and may change at any time, may differ by branch and may exclude taxes, service or delivery fees.
• The final price is set by the business. EG Maps does not sell, take orders or payments, and is not a party to any transaction.

3. Photos and trademarks

• Trade names, logos and marks belong to their owners and are shown for identification only; no partnership, sponsorship or endorsement is implied.
• We do not use photos from delivery platforms or other directories.
• We may resize, convert or trim margins of images for display without altering their content.

4. Removal and correction requests

Any business or rights holder can ask us to remove their business page, photos or any information about them, or to correct it, by emailing [email protected] (or via the photo removal form) with the page link, what to remove or change, your role and contact details. Photo and protected-content requests are removed or hidden as a precaution within 72 business hours pending review.

5. Claiming a business

Owners can use “Claim this business” at the bottom of each page. Shops, clinics and professionals are verified by a call to the listed number and, if needed, simple proof (photo at the shop sign, business card or syndicate card). Companies and chains: a company-domain email, commercial register or authorisation letter. We may refuse claims we cannot verify.

6. Accuracy and disclaimer

• Data is provided “as is”, for information only, without any warranty of accuracy, completeness or timeliness.
• Please confirm details with the business before relying on them.
• To the extent permitted by law, EG Maps is not liable for any direct or indirect loss arising from use of the site or reliance on its data, nor for the goods, services or prices of any listed business.
• The service is free and may be changed or discontinued at any time.

7. Acceptable use

• Automated or bulk copying of the site's data, or republishing it as a database, is not allowed without written permission.
• We do not offer database downloads; OSM-derived parts remain subject to ODbL.
• Anyone submitting data or photos confirms they hold the rights and grants us a free, non-exclusive licence to display them.

User contributions

Anyone can suggest a missing place or an edit (name, phone, address, hours, category, location, or “closed permanently”) without an account; we use an anonymous device identifier and a hashed IP only to limit abuse. Every suggestion is reviewed before it is published; a change may also go live automatically when several independent people report the same thing. New places use an illustrative category image until photos of the place itself are added. Do not submit personal data. Businesses can ask us to correct or remove any user-contributed information at [email protected] or via “Request removal”.

Nawy search, discovery and retention

• How answers are made: simple searches (a category or brand, optionally an area) are answered directly from the EG Maps database. Other questions may use an AI model that only sees EG Maps results; if it is unavailable or your daily smart questions are used up, Nawy shows direct search results and says so.
• Your EGMaps DNA is read on our server only for your device, and only if personalisation and “Share my DNA with Nawy” are on. Your current question always takes priority.
• Discovery candidates: when our results are thin, Nawy may show up to 3 places found in OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL), clearly labelled “Internet candidate — not verified on EGMaps”, with the source and the date it was fetched. We take only the name, category, location and phone number (when present in the source) — never addresses, opening hours, menus, photos, reviews, ratings or descriptions — and we never scrape Google or use aggregator platforms (such as Talabat, Elmenus or Yellow Pages). Candidate cards use EG Maps' own illustrative images labelled “Illustration”. A candidate is added to EG Maps only after human review.
• Prices, menus and hours on EG Maps places always show their source and date.
• Retention of Nawy questions (ask log): we store the question with digits, phone numbers and emails removed, plus technical fields (answer type, number of results, response time, cost) and hashed device/IP identifiers — never your name or precise location. After 30 days the question text is replaced by a one-way hash, and the whole record is deleted after 90 days. Clean-up runs automatically every hour. Your DNA profile is never stored in this log. Rejected candidates are deleted after 90 days, candidates nobody showed interest in after 60 days, and anonymous interest signals (one per device, stored as a hash) after 180 days.

8. Governing law

These policies are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, including IP Law No. 82 of 2002 and Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020. Disputes are first handled amicably, otherwise by the courts of Cairo.

«خرائط مصر» (egmaps.com) دليل معلوماتي مجاني بيعرض الأماكن في مصر على الخريطة. الصفحة دي بتوضّح بنجيب بياناتنا منين، وبنعرضها إزاي، وإزاي أي صاحب حق يطلب تعديل أو إزالة. وهي مكمّلة لـالشروط وسياسة الخصوصية.

١. مصادر البيانات وتراخيصها

• Overture Maps Foundation: أسماء الأماكن وإحداثياتها وتصنيفاتها وتليفوناتها ومواقعها. Overture بيجمع من مصادر بتراخيص مختلفة (أساساً CDLA-Permissive-2.0، والأجزاء المأخوذة من OpenStreetMap بترخيص ODbL)، وبنسجّل لكل سجل مصدره الأصلي وإصداره. تراخيص ومصادر Overture.
• OpenStreetMap: الخريطة نفسها وبيانات أماكن وماكينات صراف. © OpenStreetMap contributors، برخصة ODbL.
• Wikidata: بيانات السلاسل الكبيرة (الاسم الرسمي، الموقع الرسمي)، برخصة CC0.
• حدود الأقسام والمراكز: الجهاز المركزي للتعبئة العامة والإحصاء (٢٠١٧)، منشورة من مكتب الأمم المتحدة لتنسيق الشؤون الإنسانية (OCHA) على HDX برخصة CC BY 3.0 IGO، وبنستخدمها عشان نقولك إنت في أنهي قسم أو مركز في الرئيسية.
• وزارة السياحة والآثار (egymonuments.gov.eg): المواعيد وأسعار التذاكر الرسمية للمتاحف والأماكن الأثرية.
• Wikimedia Commons: صور معالم وأماكن وشعارات المحافظات. كل صورة ليها رخصتها الخاصة (زي CC BY أو CC BY-SA)، وبنحتفظ لكل صورة برابط صفحتها واسم المصوّر ورخصتها، وبنذكر لو اتعدّلت (قص أو تصغير). الصور المعدّلة بترخيص CC BY-SA بتفضل بنفس الرخصة. شرح تراخيص Commons.
• Mapillary: صور الشارع، برخصة CC BY-SA 4.0، وبتظهر في صفحة المكان بس على إنها «صورة الشارع، مش صورة المكان».
• المواقع والصفحات الرسمية للأماكن: اللوجو وصور الأصناف والأسعار المنشورة علنًا من صاحب المكان نفسه، للتعريف بالمكان ومنتجاته. الحقوق فيها لأصحابها، ومنستخدمش غير المنشور علنًا، وبنحترم قواعد كل موقع (robots.txt)، ومش بنتخطى أي حماية.
• مصادر عامة للأسعار: بعض الأسعار وأسماء الأصناف مأخوذة من مواقع منيوهات عامة (زي menuegypt.com وegmenus.com) كمعلومة بس من غير صورها، ومذكور المصدر وتاريخه جنب المنيو.
• أصحاب الأماكن والزوار: البيانات اللي بيبعتوها من خلال الموقع، بعد مراجعتها.

تفاصيل مصدر كل مكان وترخيصه مكتوبة في آخر صفحة المكان أو السلسلة، تحت «مصادر البيانات والتراخيص». وكل تعديل على البيانات بيتسجّل عندنا بمصدره وتاريخه.

٢. الأسعار والمنيو

• جنب كل منيو مكتوب مصدر الأسعار وتاريخ آخر تحديث.
• الأسعار استرشادية وممكن تتغير في أي وقت من غير ما نعرف، وممكن تختلف من فرع لفرع، ومش شاملة الضرايب أو رسوم الخدمة أو التوصيل إلا لو مكتوب كده.
• السعر النهائي هو اللي بيحدده المكان نفسه. خرائط مصر مش بتبيع ولا بتستلم طلبات ولا فلوس، ومش طرف في أي تعامل بينك وبين أي مكان.

٣. الصور والعلامات التجارية

• الأسماء التجارية واللوجوهات والعلامات المعروضة ملك أصحابها، وبتتعرض بس للتعريف بالمكان. وجودها مش معناه إن في شراكة أو رعاية أو تأييد بيننا وبين صاحبها.
• مش بنستخدم صور منصات التوصيل أو الأدلة التانية.
• ممكن نصغّر الصور أو نحوّل صيغتها أو نقصّ الهوامش عشان تتعرض صح، من غير ما نغيّر محتواها.

٤. طلبات الإزالة والتصحيح

أي صاحب مكان أو صاحب حق عايز يشيل صفحة مكانه أو صوره أو أي معلومة تخصه، أو يصحّح معلومة، كل اللي عليه يبعت إيميل على [email protected] (أو يستخدم طلب إزالة صورة)، وفيه:

• لينك الصفحة أو اسم المكان.
• المطلوب شيله أو تعديله.
• صفتك (مالك، مفوّض، صاحب الصورة…) ووسيلة تواصل.

طلبات الصور والمحتوى المحمي بنشيلها أو بنخفيها احتياطيًا خلال ٧٢ ساعة عمل من وصول الطلب، لحد ما نراجعه. وبنرد على كل الطلبات في أقرب وقت.

٥. طلب ملكية المكان

صاحب المكان أو العلامة التجارية يقدر يطلب ملكية صفحته من زرار «اطلب ملكية المكان» في آخر الصفحة. للمحلات والعيادات والمهنيين بنتأكد بمكالمة على رقم المكان، وممكن نطلب إثبات بسيط (صورة قدام اليافطة، كارت الشغل، أو كارنيه النقابة). وللشركات والسلاسل: إيميل من دومين الشركة أو سجل تجاري أو خطاب تفويض. وبعد التأكد بيقدر يدير بيانات صفحته بنفسه. وممكن نرفض أي طلب منقدرش نتأكد منه.

٦. دقة المعلومات وإخلاء المسؤولية

• البيانات معروضة «كما هي» ولأغراض معلوماتية بس. بنعمل جهدنا إنها تبقى صحيحة، بس مش بنضمن دقتها أو اكتمالها أو إنها محدّثة (المواعيد، الأسعار، التليفونات، المواقع، وغيرها).
• اتأكد من المكان نفسه قبل ما تعتمد على أي معلومة، خصوصًا قبل ما تتحرك أو تدفع.
• في حدود ما يسمح به القانون، خرائط مصر مش مسؤولة عن أي ضرر مباشر أو غير مباشر ناتج عن استخدام الموقع أو الاعتماد على بياناته، ولا عن جودة أو خدمة أو أسعار أي مكان معروض.
• الخدمة مجانية، وممكن نعدّل أو نوقف أي جزء منها في أي وقت.

٧. الاستخدام المسموح للموقع

• ممنوع نسخ أو سحب بيانات الموقع آليًا أو بكميات كبيرة، أو إعادة نشرها كقاعدة بيانات، من غير إذن مكتوب.
• مش بنتيح تنزيل قاعدة بياناتنا. والأجزاء المبنية على OpenStreetMap بتفضل خاضعة لرخصة ODbL.
• أي حد بيبعت بيانات أو صور بيقر إن ليه الحق فيها، وبيدّينا إذن غير حصري ومجاني نعرضها على الموقع، وبيتحمل مسؤوليتها.

مساهمات الزوار

تصويت «خد رأي صحابك نخرج فين؟»: بتعمله وتصوّت فيه من غير تسجيل دخول (بمعرّف مجهول للجهاز وبصمة مشفّرة للـIP بس عشان نمنع التكرار)، والاسم اللي بيظهر جنب صوتك اختياري، وكل التصويت وأصواته بيتمسحوا نهائي بعد ٣٠ يوم من قفله.

أي حد يقدر يقترح مكان ناقص أو تعديل (الاسم، التليفون، العنوان، المواعيد، النوع، المكان على الخريطة، أو إن المكان اتقفل) من غير حساب؛ بنستخدم معرّف مجهول للجهاز وبصمة مشفّرة للـIP بس عشان نمنع الإساءة. كل اقتراح بيتراجع قبل ما يتنشر، وممكن التعديل يتنشر تلقائي لما كذا شخص مستقل يبلّغوا عن نفس الحاجة. الأماكن الجديدة بتظهر بصورة توضيحية للنوع لحد ما تتضاف صور المكان نفسه. ماتبعتش بيانات شخصية. وأي صاحب مكان يقدر يطلب تصحيح أو شيل أي معلومة اتضافت من الزوار على [email protected] أو من «طلب إزالة صورة أو معلومة».

ناوي: البحث والاكتشاف ومدة الاحتفاظ

• إزاي بتطلع الإجابة: البحث البسيط (قسم أو براند ومعاه منطقة لو حبيت) بيتجاوب مباشرة من قاعدة بيانات EG Maps. الأسئلة التانية ممكن تستخدم نموذج ذكاء اصطناعي بيشوف نتايج EG Maps بس؛ ولو مش متاح أو أسئلتك الذكية خلصت النهارده، ناوي بيعرض نتايج البحث المباشر وبيقولك ده بوضوح.
• بصمتك (EGMaps DNA) بتتقري على سيرفرنا لجهازك بس، وبس لو التخصيص و«شارك بصمتك مع ناوي» شغالين. سؤالك الحالي دايمًا هو الأهم.
• مرشحين من الإنترنت: لما نتايجنا تكون قليلة، ناوي ممكن يعرض لحد ٣ أماكن من OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors، برخصة ODbL) مكتوب عليها بوضوح «مرشح من الإنترنت — غير موثّق على EGMaps» ومعاها المصدر وتاريخ الجلب. بناخد من المصدر الاسم والقسم والموقع والتليفون (لو موجود) وبس — عمرنا ما بناخد عناوين أو مواعيد أو منيو أو صور أو مراجعات أو تقييمات أو أوصاف، ومش بنسحب بيانات من جوجل ولا من منصات التجميع (زي طلبات وإلمنيوز والصفحات الصفرا). صور المرشحين صور توضيحية من عمل EG Maps مكتوب عليها «صورة توضيحية». المرشح مش بيتضاف لـ EG Maps غير بعد مراجعة بشرية.
• الأسعار والمنيو والمواعيد في أماكن EG Maps دايمًا معاها مصدرها وتاريخها.
• مدة الاحتفاظ بأسئلتك لناوي (سجل الأسئلة): بنحفظ السؤال بعد ما نشيل منه الأرقام والتليفونات والإيميلات، ومعاه بيانات فنية (نوع الإجابة، عدد النتايج، وقت الرد، التكلفة) وبصمة مشفّرة للجهاز والـIP — من غير اسمك ولا موقعك بالظبط. بعد ٣٠ يوم نص السؤال بيتبدل ببصمة مشفّرة مش بترجع، والسجل كله بيتمسح نهائي بعد ٩٠ يوم. التنضيف ده بيحصل أوتوماتيك كل ساعة، وبصمتك (DNA) عمرها ما بتتحفظ في السجل ده. المرشحين المرفوضين بيتمسحوا بعد ٩٠ يوم، واللي محدش اهتم بيهم بعد ٦٠ يوم، وإشارات الاهتمام المجهولة (واحدة لكل جهاز ومتخزنة كبصمة) بعد ١٨٠ يوم.

٨. القانون الواجب التطبيق

السياسات دي بتخضع لقوانين جمهورية مصر العربية، بما فيها قانون حماية حقوق الملكية الفكرية رقم ٨٢ لسنة ٢٠٠٢ وقانون حماية البيانات الشخصية رقم ١٥١ لسنة ٢٠٢٠. وأي نزاع بنحاول نحلّه وديًا الأول، ولو محصلش بيبقى من اختصاص محاكم القاهرة.
